Allocation Environment #

The allocation environment receives as input a model for an Executable Business Process (Level-II process) including references the services to use and semantically enriched. Then, the Deployable Process Modeller packages up these artefacts into a CloudSocket Cloudlet (Level-III process). The Allocation environment consists of five tools that are defined in the following.

Web Development Suite #

The Web Development Suite realises the main access point for all actors interacting with the Allocatoin Management. In particular, it provides access to the Cloudlet Development Environment.

CloudSocket Cloudlet Development Environment #

The Cloudlet Development Environment constitutes the for the Deployable Process Modeller. It provides a web-based user interface to import Level-II processes and transform them to Level-III processes.

CloudSocket Cloudlet Deployment Environment\\ #

The deployment environment takes the BPaaS Cloudlet description created in the development environment and bundles with further information (e.g. from the service qualifier) such that it can be used by the Execution Environment.

Cloud Service Qualifier #

The Cloud service qualifier represents a repository where information about cloud services is stored and semantic information about each cloud service is contained. This includes the interfaces provided by the service, the workflows it implements, the data it manages and its non-functional characteristics (performance, scalability, reliability, pricing, etc.).

CloudSocket Self-Adaptation Environment #

The self-adaptation environment introduces rules into the BPaaS Cloudlet that enables the cloudlet to adapt itself. For instance, it can provide rules to exchange the service instance used with a different service instance should the experienced QoS not be sufficient.
